Ferrari F8 vs 488 GTB

With the F8 Tributo spyder recently landing in SA I thought that it is only fitting to do a bit of a comparison between the new F8 Tributo and the car it replaced, the 488 GTB. The evolution of Ferrari's mid-engine supercar improves the car in three important areas.

Power
While both cars may feature 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engines the F8 Tributo produces a whopping 50hp more bringing the total output to 710hp! The car also manages to increase is torque up to 770nm. This allows for a higher top speed (334 vs 330) and a faster 0-100km/h sprint (2,9s vs 3.0s). the biggest difference is the 0-200km/h sprint times (7,6s vs 8,3s).

Design
The new F8 Tributo weighs 40 kilograms lighter than the 488GTB, bringing its weight down to just 1330kg with all the light weight options fitted. The F8 features improved aerodynamics, with is S-duct in the front acting as a wing and providing down force. Some other design features (besides looking absolutely beautiful) are new brake-cooling intakes, Lexan rear windscreen and louvres to help with engine cooling.

Interior
The main new feature of the interior is it's 7-inch touch screen display for its passengers. Thankfully it keeps the classic manettino switch and paddle shifters, as it drops the two tone colour scheme of the 488GTB
