Ferrari F8 vs 488 GTB

Image
With the F8 Tributo spyder recently landing in SA I thought that it is only fitting to do a bit of a comparison between the new F8 Tributo and the car it replaced, the 488 GTB. The evolution of Ferrari's mid-engine supercar improves the car in three important areas. ( https://www.instagram.com/p/B8_uyF2hG1Q/ ) Power While both cars may feature 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engines the F8 Tributo produces a whopping 50hp more bringing the total output to 710hp! The car also manages to increase is torque up to 770nm. This allows for a higher top speed (334 vs 330) and a faster 0-100km/h sprint (2,9s vs 3.0s). the biggest difference is the 0-200km/h sprint times (7,6s vs 8,3s). Design The new F8 Tributo weighs 40 kilograms lighter than the 488GTB, bringing its weight down to just 1330kg with all the light weight options fitted. The F8 features improved aerodynamics, with is S-duct in the front acting as a wing and providing down force. Some other design features (besides

The Future of Aston Martin

Image
Aston Martin was established way back in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. The brand gained world wide recognition when David Brown took control over the company and started producing the DB series of cars, notably the DB5 which was in the James Bond film "Goldfinger". When David Brown left in the 1970s the brand fell on some hard times and was eventually bought out by Ford. In March 2007 Ford ended up selling Aston Martin to some of the brands devotees who have kept the brand afloat ever since. Now however Aston Martin has its eyes set on some big goals with the release of the DBX and some big changes in their line up. Aston Martin expects their first SUV (the DBX) to boost their sales by two thirds which will be much needed after a share-price drop of 75% last year (according to Reuters) due to a decrease in demand for the Vantage. Its been estimated that one third of all car sales next year will be in the SUV class, which means that the market is there for

A Brief History Of Pagani

Image
Horacio Pagani grew up in Casilda Argentina, it was a rural agricultural community where Horacio first started to build go-karts and minibikes with his friends. As he got older, he started messing around with fiberglass and he made his own limitada santafestina race car which is a single seater rear engine car without any formal engineering training. He got money to fund his race car by selling fiberglass camper shells. Once he finished building his race car, he approached Renault and asked them for an engine, which Renault provided and they also ended up sponsoring the team for the entire season. Horacio used his connections that he made through racing to help get him a foot in the door at one of the big Italian car manufacturers. He got a verbal agreement that he could work for Lamborghini as a designer on their new project. He sold his business and got ready to move to Italy when he got a letter form Lamborghini saying that they have cancelled their project, which was th

BMW has unveild its 2 Series Gran Coupe. It is a premium compact four door that fills the smallest of gaps between the 1 Series and the 3 Series, but it does so in style. The top of the range two series Gran Coupe will be the M235i xDrive. It will come equipped with a 2 liter four-cylinder mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox producing 228hp and 350nm of torque, allowing it to reach 100kmh in under 5 seconds.
