Volvo XC40 Recharge

The Volvo XC40 Recharge recently launched, this all electric variant of the XC40 comes with all wheel drive with the electric motor pushing out 408hp and 660nm of torque. The battery has a 76kwh capacity with 75 kwh of that capacity being usable, this is done to help protect the battery so it lasts longer. The XC40 Recharge will also come with a good range of 400km.

The XC40 Recharge is the bands first mass available EV after Volvo played around with an electric C30 back in 2013. Back in 2013 Volvo was bragging about being able to achieve a full recharge in just 1.5 hours, with that charge giving you a range of up to 150km. The new Volvo blows those stats out of the water as in just 40 minutes it can charge up to 80% giving you 320km of range.

The electric XC40 has a few styling tweaks from the combustion one. The grille is closed except for a small slit at the bottom, the lower fascia, mirror caps and roof are all black. The car is also available in a new colour called Sage Green. Due to the lack of engine there is also storage space under the hood. The interior still remains the same.

Volvo plans to bring out an EV every year for the next 5 years with its goal of having 50% of its global sales being EV and the other 50% being hybrids.
