BMW X5 M and X6 M Debut
BMW has debuted the new X5 M and the X6 M as well as their competition packages. These variants offer more tech, luxury, aggressive styling and (the main reason) more power compared to the standard versions. the X5 M and the X6 M both use the same twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8. The M versions push out 447kw and 750nm of torque, 25kw more than the previous M models, allowing for a 0-100 sprint of 4 seconds.
The competition variants use the same engine to push out 460kw, as well as the same 750nm of torque getting to 100kmh just 0.1 seconds faster. Both the M and M competition are equipped to a quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission and the cars can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250kmh. The M Driver's package increases the speed limit to 285kmh and also gets you an advanced driving course.
The M variants have also received reworked suspension, giving them adaptive M suspension and Active Roll Stabilization. The brakes have also been upgraded to 395 millimeter front disks with six-piston calipers at the front and 380 millimeter disks at the back. The cars will be going on sale in March next year.
