A Brief History Of Pagani

Image
Horacio Pagani grew up in Casilda Argentina, it was a rural agricultural community where Horacio first started to build go-karts and minibikes with his friends. As he got older, he started messing around with fiberglass and he made his own limitada santafestina race car which is a single seater rear engine car without any formal engineering training. He got money to fund his race car by selling fiberglass camper shells. Once he finished building his race car, he approached Renault and asked them for an engine, which Renault provided and they also ended up sponsoring the team for the entire season. Horacio used his connections that he made through racing to help get him a foot in the door at one of the big Italian car manufacturers. He got a verbal agreement that he could work for Lamborghini as a designer on their new project. He sold his business and got ready to move to Italy when he got a letter form Lamborghini saying that they have cancelled their project, which was th

Volvo XC40 Recharge

Image
The Volvo XC40 Recharge recently launched, this all electric variant of the XC40 comes with all wheel drive with the electric motor pushing out 408hp and 660nm of torque. The battery has a 76kwh capacity with 75 kwh of that capacity being usable, this is done to help protect the battery so it lasts longer. The XC40 Recharge will also come with a good range of 400km. The XC40 Recharge is the bands first mass available EV after Volvo played around with an electric C30 back in 2013. Back in 2013 Volvo was bragging about being able to achieve a full recharge in just 1.5 hours, with that charge giving you a range of up to 150km. The new Volvo blows those stats out of the water as in just 40 minutes it can charge up to 80% giving you 320km of range. The electric XC40 has a few styling tweaks from the combustion one. The grille is closed except for a small slit at the bottom, the lower fascia, mirror caps and roof are all black. The car is also available in a new colour called Sag

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe

Image
BMW has unveild its 2 Series Gran Coupe. It is a premium compact four door that fills the smallest of gaps between the 1 Series and the 3 Series, but it does so in style. The top of the range two series Gran Coupe will be the M235i xDrive. It will come equipped with a 2 liter four-cylinder mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox producing 228hp and 350nm of torque, allowing it to reach 100kmh in under 5 seconds. The US versions will only be available in xDrive while Europe will eventually be able to get a front wheel drive version. This version of xDrive is not the ordinary xDrive system as it uses tech from the i3, most importantly the near-actuator wheel slip limitation system. If necessary it will lightly brake the inner wheels to help improve grip. The 2 series Gran Coupe is a four door coup with styling elements such as flared haunches, sloping roof line and an upscale interior. The 2 Series Gran Coupe is aimed at the Mercedes CLA and the A3 sedan.

Electric Macan Getting 700hp

Image
Porsche has confirmed that they are bringing out an all electric Macan. Porsche's director of SUV's Julian Baumann has told said that the all-electric version of the Macan will be sold alongside the normal combustion versions to appeal to both kinds of buyers as not everyone is ready of EVs just yet. The electric Macan will be very different from its combustion version as it has to be built of an entirely different platform. The platform that it will be using is the Premium Platform Electric, which is the same one that the Taycan uses. This platform will however have to be adjusted for SUV use. Porsche claims that the all electric version will retain the same DNA of its predecessor and stay the sportiest model in its class. The most powerful version of the electric Macan will be pushing out 700hp (525kw) and 1017nm of torque. The power will be sent to all four wheels with two motors powering each axle.

McLaren 620R Confirmed

Image
The McLaren 620R is a road going GT4 racing car that will be based on the firms 600LT. This car has recently been spotted doing some testing and the aerodynamics have been updated for this spec. The aero is similar to last years exclusive 570s MSO X as it has gained a huge rear spoiler, a roof mounted air scoop and some bonnet intakes. The McLaren will feature the same 3.8 liter V8 as the 600LT, but with the car being called the 620 we can expect it to pack 620hp (this is more than the regulation-restricted racing models). It is expected that the 620R will come with a bespoke suspension tune, altough it is unknown if it will be with race-bred coilovers. The interior has not yet been seeing as it is a race spec model it will most likely get some race spec treatment such as six-point harnesses as well as removing of all the hardware and features that are non-essential. Lamborghini's Electric GT?

Image
Lamborghini has chosen to add a fourth car to their line up and instead of going for another mid-engined supercar the brand has instead opted for a 2+2 grand tourer inspired by their 2008 Estoque concept. There have been debates over whether this car will be mid or front engined however according to Lamborghini R&D boss Maurizio Reggiani it could possibly be the brands first electric car. Reggiani said that Lamborghini could use an electric car platform from the Volkswagen Group which they are a part of. The most likely candidate for this would be the current PPE platform which is used by the Porsche Taycan and the upcoming Audi E-tron GT. This will help Lamborghini lower development costs of a pure electric model. When it comes to the performance of the GT Reggiani said that the performance is important but not as important as it for their super-sport cars. It is however quite likely that the 2025 GT will have a 0-100 kmh time of less than 3 seconds seeing as the Urus whic

2020 Tesla Roadster; Everything You Need To Know

Image
With the roadster coming out next year I thought that a quick recap would be a good idea to help prepare the world for what could potentially be the fastest production car. The stats of this Tesla are insane. 10,000 nm of torque 1.9 second 0-60 mph 4.2 second 0-100mph 8.8 second 1/4 mile Top speed over 250 mph The 0-60 mph time is the fastest in the world for a production car and so is the 8.8 second 1/4 mile time. Tesla didn't come to mess around. The Roadster also comes with optional SpaceX thrusters, these are cold gas thrusters with very high pressure air that will take the place of the two rear seats. If you get this package you will get 10 small thrusters placed around the car that will help with acceleration, breaking, cornering and top speed.  The Tesla will come with three electric motors, one in the front and two in the back, allowing it to have all wheel drive to help handle all of its power. The Roadster will come with a 200-kilowatt-hour battery an

80 Years Of RUF

Image
Alois Ruf, creater of Auto RUF first got into Porsches when he saw a Porsche 356 crash on the highway and he rushed to the divers aid, he ended up keeping the wrecked Porsche in his garage while the injured driver was in the hospital recovering. Ruf ended up buying the wrecked Porsche from the drivers insurance as the car was written off. He was fascinated by the Porsche and soon Auto RUF became the go-to Porsche repair shop in southern Germany. After Alois Snr's death his son Alois Jr took over the shop and kept the legacy of being the go-to place for Porsches, however he also started focusing on performance and Motorsport. Alouis Jr decided that he was going to build a 911 in a way that would give him better performance, it took him three years and in 1978 he unveiled the SCR. It was based on a 3 liter naturally aspirated Porsche 911 SC but achieved the same performance as the much faster Porsche 930. He achieved this by boring out the engine to 3.2 liters, updated the fuel
